What is GRC or GFRC ?
What is GRC ?
So, GRC or Glass fiber reinforced concrete is a type of fiber-reinforced concrete. The product is also known as glassfibre reinforced concrete or GRC in British English. Glass fiber concretes are mainly used in exterior building façade panels and as architectural precast concrete. It’s a cement-based composite material reinforced with alkali-resistant glass fibers. Thickness about of 3/4”-1” (18-25mm), although some applications are as thin as ½” (12mm).
What is GFRC ?
GFRC is similar to chopped fiberglass (the kind used to form boat hulls and other complex three-dimensional shapes), although much weaker. It’s made by combining a mixture of fine sand, cement, polymer (usually an acrylic polymer), water, other admixtures and alkali-resistant (AR) glass fibers.
